Hampshire Archery Association is the home of archery in Hampshire, UK. The Association is affiliated to SCAS (Southern Counties Archery Society) and GNAS (Grand National Archery Society) who are the governing body for the sport in the UK.
Archery is a sport for all ages and abilities and is great for families. There are over 50 archery clubs in Hampshire and most offer beginners courses. If you interested in trying archery get in touch with one of the clubs listed here.
The most recent edition of Archery UK (Winter 2011/12) included proposed changes to the Rules of Shooting to include American Flat Bow (AFB) as a shooting style for Target, Field and Flight archery (p65).
After email correspondence with GNAS I have been advised that an Operations Meeting on the 7th of January approved the AFB for Field and Flight but not yet for Target and Clout. Additionally:
In line with this, HAA will recognise Field and Flight records shot on or after the 1st April 2012. An amended record claim form will be posted in due course.
Important Update - RNSCA Double Portsmouth - Change of Dates
Due to unforeseen problems with the venue at HMS Collingwood the Double Portsmouth tournament will now be held over the weekend of 18th and 19th February. All existing entries will be honoured. A full refund will be made to any archers unable to attend on the new dates. The Navy Indoor Championships will now be held during the Saturday session on 18th February.
