Guidance for Treasurers
GNAS have introduced a new method of paying annual
fees with the main difference being that the fees to GNAS are now paid directly to GNAS and the county and region affiliation fees are now paid separately via the county.
This is an interim change before the rollout of an online payment system.
All clubs should now have received their Annual Return forms. If your club has not received the forms get in touch with Susan Walford at GNAS on 01952 602 790
Here are some notes to help you complete your return:
- Check the list of members and cross out any who will not be members of the club on the 30th of September 2010. Make sure that the membership number can still be read.
- Mark a "Y" in the "Junior Subscription" box For all juniors who will be under 18 years on the 30th of September 2010, and enter the date of birth.
- If a junior member of a junior club who will be 18
years or over on the 30th of September 2010 then cross the member off the junior club list and add to the Summary Update Sheet of the senior club as a senior member transferring into the senior club.
- Mark a "Y" in the "Senior Subscription" box for all senior members and optionally add their date of birth.
- If a member chooses not to receive the Archery UK magazine then enter "N" in the box otherwise leave it as "Y".
- The "3rd party opt out" box is confusing! A "Y" indicates that the member consents to
receive material from 3rd parties!! I think it is safest to change this to "N" unless the member has expressly asked to receive 3rd party correspondence.
- For a new member, write their details on the Summary Update Sheet. Put their joining date in the "Membership No./Date of Joining" box.
- In the case of a member transferring into your club or a junior who is transferring from your junior to your senior club, add the member's details to the Summary Update Sheet. Put the member's Archery GB membership number in the "Membership No./Date of Joining" box and write "TRANS" next
to it.
- If a member's address has changed then update the member's details on the Summary Update Sheet. Put the member's GNAS number in the "Membership No./Date of Joining" box. Make sure the address is correct as membership cards will be sent directly to this address rather than via the club.
- Make 3 copies of your completed Annual Return
- Send one copy of each to GNAS with the GNAS Fees (cheques made payable to ‘Archery UK')
- Fees and forms should be posted to arrive at GNAS on or before 1st September.
- Send one copy of each to HAA with HAA & SCAS fees to the following address. (Cheque payable to HAA)
HAA Treasurer
c/o 10 Vincent Avenue
Southampton
Hampshire
SO16 6PQ
HAA affiliation fees are £3.00
SCAS affiliation fees are £1.50
- Retain one copy for the club records.
New members joining now will still benefit from the extended membership period and their membership will be valid until 30 September 2011. New members joining after 1st October 2010 will pay the full rate until 31 December 2010 when the pro rata basis will be introduced.

The current weather conditions seem to be very favourable with ticks and there are quite a few around at the moment. Ticks can carry a bug which might result in the very debilitating Lyme Disease if the tick is left attached.
Here is a link to a poster that you could display in your club advising people what to look out for and what to do if a tick is found.
